Cross-Over Character Love Connection.

It’s universally accepted that single people make for interesting television; hook-ups, break-ups and make-ups fuel the perpetual plot machine much more effectively than the humble, every day struggles of a healthy marriage. (Friday Night Light‘s Eric and Tammi Taylor are the exception that proves the rule.) I enjoy watching the never-ending cycle of sexual tension and angst as much as the next person, however, sometimes I turn into that obnoxious, pushy Auntie that wishes these crazy kids on the TV would just settle down already.

Like the meddling matchmaker I am, I’ve taken it upon myself to match-up some of this season’s notoriously single ladies and fellas:

Jess Day & Andy Bernard

Picture 1 of 7

She's a schoolteacher. He's a mid-level manager at a paper company. She's awkward in social situations. He's awkward in social situations. They both have an affinity for pastels, patterns and bursting into song in public. Opposite coasts and competitive networks be damned -- let's get these crazy kids together! They'd have sing-a-longs, go to Cornell alumni events and have a perfectly manicured suburban life together.

I just wish somehow Ron and Liz could happen. You’re right, they are on the same network, so how hard could it be?
